Francis Joseph I inagurated the Liberty Bridge over the Danube in 1896, as part of the thousand-year jubilee of Hungary. János Feketeházy, chief engineer of the Hungarian Railroads, designed the Art Nouveau style structure.
A major site inside Prague Castle, St. Vitus Cathedral contains the tombs of Bohemian kings and Holy Roman Emperors. The first of three buildings on this site dates from 930. Construction of the current Gothic building began in 1344 and ended in 1929!
